Router Settings – TP-Link
NBN Service Setup and Router Configuration
This article provides Router setup configuration for NBN FTTN, FTTB, HFC & NBN Fixed Wireless services (excludes NBN FTTP) and assumes you have the NBN box (NTD) installed by NBNco and you have received your NBN connection details from Cybertel.
This article covers:

Physical Setup:
As per the TP-Link Quick Installation Guide provided in the TP-Link router box 1. Connect the WAN port on the back of your router to your NBN Connection Box 2. Connect any of the 4 LAN ports on the back of your router to your PC 3. Connect the Power port on the back of your router to your power socket 4. Wait for NBN activation, the Internet light will turn green Note: If you have received your router from Cybertel, you are not required to configure your router as all necessary settings will be preconfigured by Cybertel and your router will connect automatically, and within a few minutes, the Internet light will turn green. You are connected.
NBN FTTN & FTTB Manual Setup
If you did not receive your TP-Link router from Cybertel, the NBN configuration details will need to be added manually. This section will step you through the process to connect your Cybertel NBN FTTN or FTTB service. Please confirm your connection type with the information provided by Cybertel.
1. Launch a web browser and go to http://tplinkmodem.net or http://192.168.1.1.
Create a strong password and click Let’s Get Started to log in. If you have changed the login credentials, please enter the current password for your router interface.
2. On the user interface home screen, click the Advanced tab.
3. On the menu on the left side, click Network to expand the menu and then click DSL.
4. Click the Edit button on pppoe_ptm_2_0_d.
5. Enter your Cybertel NBN Username and Password. Click Save.
6. Click the Basic tab 8. On the menu on the left side, click Wireless.
7. You can change your Wi-Fi details or keep the default settings. The default Wi-Fi SSID (network name) is WiFi-xxxx (xxxx is a random 4-digit alphanumeric code printed on the sticker on the underside of your modem). By default, the Wi-Fi password is printed on a sticker underneath your modem (Wireless Password/Key).
Click Save. Congratulations, your NBN FTTN or NBN FTTB setup is complete!
NBN HFC, FTTP & FTTC Manual Setup
If you did not receive your TP-Link router from Cybertel, the NBN configuration details will need to be added manually. This section will step you through the process to connect to Cybertel NBN HFC or NBN Fixed Wireless service. Please confirm your connection type with the information provided by Cybertel. 1. Launch a web browser and go to http://tplinkmodem.net or http://192.168.1.1. Create a strong password and click Let’s Get Started to log in. If you have changed the login credentials, please enter the current password for your modem interface.
2. On the user interface home screen, click the Advanced tab.
3. On the menu on the left side, click Network to expand the menu and then click EWAN.
4. Enter your Cybertel NBN Username and Password. Click Save.
5. Click the Basic tab.
6. On the menu on the left side, click Wireless.
7. You can change your Wi-Fi details or keep the default settings. The default Wi-Fi SSID (network name) is WiFi-xxxx (xxxx is a random 4 digit alphanumeric code printed on the sticker on the underside of your modem). By default, the Wi-Fi password is printed on a sticker underneath your modem (Wireless Password/Key).
Click Save. Congratulations, your NBN HFC or NBN Fixed Wireless setup is complete!
